  1. Agreed. Everybody fun (i.e. unethical and/or outrageous) is laying low or on vacation.

  2. Why are you waiting on the news to come to you? A good journalist FINDS the news.

What about a story on this summer's summer associate classes? How is the hiring dynamic given the economy? Are the new firms more picky in terms of qualifications? Are they hiring as many? Is everyone going to get an offer? How many from Boyd getting jobs with the big firms? Why am I doing your job for you? ;)

  3. There's a few problems with that suggestion:

    1) not a journalist
    2) not paid to write the blog
    3) paid to do secretarial work, which does take up a fair amount of my day at the firm
    4) professional journalists have developed sources that aid them in getting tips and reporting on those tips
    5) law firms don't like to share information

I appreciate the tips and some of those stories sound like great ideas. However, to accomplish a decent post on any of them, I will need more annonymous tipsters. Any suggestions on developing tips would be great.

Otherwise, the blog is imagined as a Nevada-focued version of abovethelaw.com. It will collect stories about the law and lawyers in Vegas and share tips, rumors, and any information it can collect.

Bottom line: I need more tips on anything and everything.

  4. I'm thinking that this 'Anonymous' person should consider his or her own blog. I've always considered that complaining without a solution is just bitching, and I don't see this 'anonymous' person submitting suggestions on how to resolve the problem - just complaining about them. Hence...

  5. I totally agree w/ 9:56 pm. Maintaining a blog with meaningful information takes a lot of time and effort and "anonymous" should stop the bitching and start contributing information.
