Okay. A ballot measure was passed requiring North Las Vegas Judges to have law degrees.
ReplyDeleteMs. Eagle, you ask, "what?!? law degrees for judges? what state am I living in?"
Why stop at a law degree? That was a silly ordinance. N. Las Vegas should require that judges actually pass the bar exam. It seems to me that, unless the judge is a licensed lawyer, he or she is practicing law without a license.
Why validate down stats? Anybody can get a law degree. Take it to the next level and make 'em pass the bar exam too.
If the judge only has a law degree, it means that he or she has never tried a case. How can such a judge ever rule on an hearsay objection or instruct a jury?
Now that Nevada is officially a Blue state, all judges should be licensed attorneys. No exceptions.
P.S.
