Election Post-Mortem

We've already had some talk of this in our previous thread, but let's make it official now that we've had a chance to digest the results.

What are your thoughts on the way the elections turned out? We've previously listed the candidates that most affect our legal community; the results can be found, here. What do you think ... did the voters get it right?

Also, there were two ballot measures that went down in flames, as ATL commented:

In Nevada, the people voted to protect their right to vote for state judges. That’s not surprising, people who have no understanding about what judges do want to pretend like their [sic] not horribly uninformed every two years.

Here's to (at least) two more years of a "horribly uninformed" voting public.

On the heels of the RJ, the LV Sun has released their judicial candidate endorsements.

WTF Syndrome?

What do you do when business is slow? Create your own niche, of course.

If you're Kurt Harris, you make up an ailment, then you get an "expert" to legitimize it, then you offer to sue on behalf of people with your made-up ailment. Genius!

Bonus points if you're able to get elected to the bench and recognize said "expert" as qualified to testify regarding said made-up ailment.

Don Chairez (the man running against current Clark County District Attorney David Roger) has officially fired the first negative-campaign shot via a television ad:

When reached for comment, Mr. Chairez stated he would have sought the death penalty for Ms. Hilton - citing The Hottie & The Nottie as his aggravating circumstance.
