Las Vegas Sun gives their judicial candidate endorsements

On the heels of the RJ, the LV Sun has released their judicial candidate endorsements.

What do you guys think?

  1. I think the Sun needs to grow a set and actually endorse A candidate.

  2. Disagree with 8:00 - if they think both are qualified and both would be a good judge, why not endorse both? It is not a political position where they will be voting on policy (hopefully), so the paper should just be saying which would be good (and if one is much better, who that is).

Odd though they never say both are unqualified, which would be true in some races.

    Most races.

There is not an exceptional judicial candidate on the ballot in any race. This is an exercise in finding candidates who are least likely to be really really bad. It is similar to the MBE where the questions frequently required us to find the least wrong answer (I took the MBE 16 years ago, but I do remember that being the case).

  7. The Review-Journal endorsing the opponent of a conservative incumbent judge while the Sun does the opposite is a little peculiar
