The RJ's Judging the Judges poll results are out, and today it's time to acknowledge some of our lesser-known jurists. Here's the numbers for our municipal court judges:
Las Vegas Municipal Court:
- George Assad: 31% would retain
- Bert M. Brown: 93% would retain
- Martin D. Hastings: 86% would retain
- Cedric A. Kerns: 82% would retain
- Elizabeth B. Kolkoski: 58% would retain
- Cynthia S. Leung: 73% would retain
Henderson Municipal Court:
- Diana D. Hampton: 38% would retain
- Douglas Hedger: 74% would retain
- Mark Stevens: 57% would retain
North Las Vegas Municipal Court:
- Sean Hoeffgen: 56% would retain
- Warren VanLandschoot: 56% would retain
Congratulations to George Assad for obtaining the lowest overall retention score of any judge in Clark County. Way to go, Your Honor! Also, congratulations to Warran VanLandschoot for having the most awesome name ever.

ReplyDeleteVanLandshoot isn't even an attorney, he's a retired cop. You have to love that in today's day and age North Las Vegas still isn't a court of record. Shows how far "justice" goes in NLV. Assad is just plain crazy, but that is why cop's love him, he'll throw anybody in jail, Constitution be damned. He's got to have judicial complaints out there, why is he still on the bench?
ReplyDeleteVanLandshoot tends to get his knowledge of the law from the City attorneys who are in his courtroom on a daly basis.
ReplyDeleteOne one occasion when I pointed out how absurd one particular city attorneys argument was VanLandshoot had to step in and try to defend the city attorney's position because he was tongue tied.
I've learned the hardway that courtroom is a two-headed monster. Sadly both heads are empty.
Judge Assad should never be allowed to step foot on the bench he is an unfair and greedy person i believe he gets paid extra for jailing anyone he needs to go back to law school and learn all over again. This man has a nick name of Mr.180 that is horrible I've wittnessed him jail pregnant women and people for J walking come on we have no room in our jails now for the real criminals! I never have voted but I will make sure I do to get him off the bench!
