Congratulations Bar Takers!

Three days, eight one-hour essays, two-hundred multiple choice questions and 1.5 hours of testing your ability to do what you actually do as a lawyer ... and it's over! Congratulations to those of you who made it through, and we'd love to hear the stories of those who didn't.

So, how did it go? Did anything interesting happen during the exam? What subjects were tested? If you took the exam this week, please leave us a comment. We want to hear all about it!

  1. Just got out. No con law or contracts questions, very strange. One crossover, remedies/trusts. MBE was super easy.

  2. What, no tax questions, you got off easy. Had several tax questions on bar and had no idea why since I will never practice in the area.

  3. BARBRI: I want my money back. WTF?

  4. all you want from BarBri is your money back? How about several months of your life as well?

  5. @1:04

    Die in a fire, troll.

If you didn't see Con Law, you weren't taking the NV Bar. When a question tells you to discuss the arguments for and against constitutionality, that's a pretty big tip-off.

Today: Pure Crim pro (with a minor confrontation clause, but I don't know if that counts as Evidence or Crim Pro), pure Con Law, a Contracts/remedies crossover, and PR (of course). Tuesday was intentional torts, Civ. Pro, domestic relations/community property, and corporations/agency.

  6. Why torture yourselves with trying to figure out what the topics were. You finished a bar exam...go out and get wasted!!!

  7. It's beyond f&*#ing frustrating to look back on all of those nights and weekends spent on studying stupid useless subjects like Conflicts, Wills/Trusts, Secured Transactions, and Commercial Paper and not seeing them once on the bar. And those MBE questions were way harder than than the ones Barbri gave us. Time to reacquaint myself with alcohol and sleep...in that order. Let the summer finally begin.

  8. Softball essay questions if you studied for a week and looked at what NV tests. Wonder if it was to make up for Feb or MBE that tested absolutely nothing taught in the bar review courses WTF? Fuck it, I got a twelve pack that needs consuming.

  9. If you just finished the bar exam, and are coming on to WWL right now instead of doing anything else with your new found freedom, you need help.

  10. 3:52...Exactly!!...the bar takers should be helping themselves to some booze at the bar instead of going online and seeing what people "believe" was tested.

  11. @209

I heard the Civ.Pro. was a head fake.

  12. @8:12,

Well, it asked us to discuss the "power" of the court. That seemed pretty Civ. Pro-ish to me.

  13. I took the bar. Now I am at one.

  14. Even reading this gives me flash backs of my own self mutilation. I think I'll go get wasted in sympathy!

And uttering any sound that simulates BarBri makes me throw up a little bit in my mouth!

  15. I will have to agree with 8:04's statement.

  16. Kiddies, kiddies...don't post-mortem. You either passed or failed, and comparing notes on what the essays were really testing is a fool's errand because it will not change the outcome and does nothing but serve to cause you additional and unnecessary consternation.

BTW, when I sat for the bar, we still wrote cuneoform on clay tablets.

  17. Telling people not to post mortem is sorta futile. Some people want to, others don't. Just beccause some do does nto make it a bad thing....don't hate the post mortemers.

  18. @ 2:09, You think you're pissed now? Wait until you are practicing against 1:04 and he/she/it (alleged troll) doesn't even understand the causes of action he/she/it has alleged, but refuses to dismiss his/her/its complaint. THEN, you will be really pissed that he/she/it passed the same test you just took!

  19. 1:04 is definitely a troll.

There was no trusts/remedies crossover. Unless you conjured up the issue in the CP/Domestic Relations cross. 2:09 actually took the exam and those were the same topics I saw, except the Civ Pro was crossed with Remedies Prelim Injunction issue.

Hopefully I did enough to pass if not, I'll be exploring other options not sure I want to sit for the exam again.

  20. It's not "hating" on the post-mortem, it's the very fact that those who do post are obviously not confident in the test they just sat for.

You should be out celebrating that you got your life back and booze it up!

  21. @ 4:27,

I probably wouldn't have said anything, but trolls piss me off. They particularly piss me off when they try to increase the stress level of people who have just endured 3 solid months of stress.

Does that mean I fed the troll? Yeah, probably. But I know what was tested, and I know exactly how I did in each area. Figured it was better to have accurate info out there than to let 1:04 scare anyone. Although the ones who didn't know what was being tested the first day were probably the ones that didn't bother to show up on days 2 or 3.

    1:38,

In my thinking, preliminary injunction is just part of Civ. Pro.
