Fisticuffs at the CPK Party

Okay, okay ... we got the message.

Our bad for not putting up a post-CPK Party ... um ... post. It's the number one thing on our commenters minds, and we're sorry. Wea culpa.

Anyways, here's what we were able to glean about the fight at the party:
  1. Attorney (unknown) was getting frisky with Girlfriend (not his).

  2. Boyfriend (Boyd 2L) showed up, and took a swing at Attorney, thereby reducing his chances at OCI by one.

  3. Attorney Leon Symanski ("hired goon" or former Running Rebel great, depending on who you ask) stepped in and sent the men to their corners.
That's all we know, we're looking to you guys to fill in the blanks. Also, do let us know of any other party shenanigans of which you are aware.

As for Ed Miley ... we got nothing (yet). Although, kudos to LU for finding this gem.

We also got a little chuckle out of Ed's website profile - "member of the Divorce and Domestic Section of the State Bar of Nevada" ... really?

(Thanks, tipsters!)

  1. Actually, As i believe it happened was Attorney's friend was messing with Boyd Student's friend (not a student). Attorney jumped in, BOyd Friend pushed Attorney down, Attorney jumped up and punched Boyd friend. THen some of Attorney's friends and others got in between and broke it up. And then Boyd Friend started it again a little later, broken up again. Boyd Friend spent the rest of the night glaring at Attorney and Attorney's friend.

Not that I was right next to the fight or anything.

  3. Actually, as I know first-hand what happened,

Attorney and his friends were harassing Boyd student whose non-Boyd boyfriend was clearly not happy about. However, not being an instigator, non-Boyd bf did nothing, even after being confronted by one of Attorney's friends. At that point, non-Boyd friend stood up for non-Boyd bf.

Attorney was pushed down and immediately jumped up and punched non-Boyd friend at which point several broke them up. Non-Boyd friend was ready to leave, but Attorney continued to run his mouth with the City Attorneys and LV Metro behind him. However, nothing happened further and non-Boyd friend was taken home by Boyd students.

  5. Can we get some names here? WTF, this took place in public, what is this so secret? If you act like a douche in public you should not be afforded anonymity. Unless, of course, your post on this site is douche-like

  8. OK... enough about the what-could-have-been-a-fight. I wanna know who hocked up with whom. Much more interesting.

  9. With all due respect to CPK, an incident like this is an inevitability.

  10. It's not even uncommon for fights to break out at Boyd events. It happened several times while I was there. Heavy egos and heavy drinking unsuprisingly end in this sort of thing. But really ... who cares?
Kenny needs to get a little more selective about his invites.

  11. @12:54 -- Agreed - stick around past 9pm and you're bound to run into some local homeless at the party

  12. @1:17,

That's not a homeless man, that's just a smashed lawprof...

  14. @10:21 AM

You must be a law student. This in not "high school". Law practice in Las Vegas is several different 'high schools' (e.g. 'CD High', 'PI High', 'DA High', 'PD High', 'Courthouse High'...). Then each High School competes for supremacy. That is the REAL Vegas Baby!!

  18. Sorry, posted on the wrong site, I was responding to someone's reference to the LA article as credible. I was bouncing between my Blawg & WWL at the time.

  20. Attorneys need to be reprimanded for these actions. Then and only then will they cease.

  21. Sanctions against LU!!!

  22. Yes, someone PLEASE sanction me. All these attorneys getting mistreated by judges and Queen Bulla and all I get is grief on WWL.

  23. I almost put the smack down on a prominent attorney in town at a CKP 2003. The jerk spilled a glass of wine on my white shirt.

    I turned the other cheek.

It helped that he looked at my shirt in a way tha suggested he was thinking "why is this nice young man wearing that shirt with the funny pattern on it. Hey, that reminds me, I need another glass of wine." He was so wasted, it never registered how the pattern got onto my shirt or why this pattern would remind him to refill his glass...
