Tired of being known as the firm that got served by Greenberg Traurig, the firm formerly known as Kummer Kaempfer Bonner Renshaw & Ferrario showed this week that it has some moves of its own.[WWL really should come up with a symbol for their new name . . . you know, like when Prince wasn't Prince before he became Prince again. For now, WWL will use TFFKAKKBRF as an acronym for Kummer Kaempfer]
After having its talent raided by Greenberg Traurig a few weeks back, TFFKAKKBRF went out and did some stealing of its own. (LV Business Press [last pgph of story onGT]) The firm took Business Litigation Super Lawyer and Gaming Commission Chair Peter Bernhard and attorney Georganne Bradley from the Las Vegas office of Bullivant Houser Bailey.
Damnnnnn. TFFKAKKBRF got served by GT, but then turned around and served up BHB. Oh, it's on now! We got a dance off, y'all.
Hmmmm-hope they don't get comfortable. Never knowing how long KKBRF will keep them and their quick decisions on "downsizing" again might come as suprise. Surprise Surprise Surprise as Gomer Pyle says.

ReplyDeleteI don't think that Bullivant Houser was raided because I heard it was already planning to close its Las Vegas office and these attorneys needed a place to go. I think what is left of KKBR was lucky enough to get these attorneys and their books of business.

There were good attorneys and good people at BHB. I hope they all find soft landings if their satellite office is in fact shuttered in the near future.
ReplyDeleteBullivant isn't closing its Las Vegas office; they do have lawyers there with strong independent books of business.
ReplyDeleteGT did not raid KKBRF. GT & KKBRF were in talks for more than a year to merge the firms, and there came a time when one half of KKBRF voted to merge and the other half backed out, leaving TFFKAKKBRF.
