Lewis and Roca names new partners

Congratulations to Joice Bass, Jennifer Craft, Suzanne Martin, Abran Vigil and Caryn Tijsseling, five Nevada attorneys who were named partner at Lewis & Roca. (L&R Press Release)

Note: it took the newly-crowned between 8-11 years of legal practice after law school graduation to make partner at L&R.

  1. Do they have a two-tier parternship? If so, are the new "partners" only income partners, or are they full equity partners?

There is obviously a major difference in compensation.

  2. No offense to all you tall-building attorneys, but it's ridiculous that you spend 8 years of your life to become partner...

I sincerely don't get it. Even after you become partner, you're still not the ultimate boss. You have to answer to the senior partners etc. At the tall-building firm I worked at after graduation, the junior partners tip-toed around the office fearful of ticking off the senior partners. Confounding...

  4. 9:17: The reason is because I don't want to be the ultimate boss. Sincerely, a tall building associate.
