Salary/Benefits/Insurance/Bonus/Hiring Survey--Firm Health

It's that time of year again, folks. Time to do a survey of the Vegas legal industry.

As usual, we rely on reader tips to provide information on:
  • starting salaries
  • lockstep raises
  • guaranteed salary increases
  • benefits,
  • insurance benefits,
  • bonuses, and
  • the state of hiring in Fall 2009 (how many were hired)
Please send in any and all information to nevadalegal@gmail.com. All information will be compiled into a spreadsheet and published later in Sept.

Also, this year, we are looking for information on all firms, legal businesses and government posts, no matter the size. So please send in any details you know to nevadalegal@gmail.com.

* for this round, we're just looking for information on attorney positions, but we will be working on a similar survey for support staff soon.

  1. The only probably about sending in info about a small firm is that the partners will know who did it. (Maybe I'll just disclose what I got at my old firm. They had a lot of turn over (attorney), so they won't know it was me.)

  2. If your firm is very small and you are worried about annonymity, email us the practice areas, size of the firm and the other relevant info.

  3. At my mid-level shop (let's just say around 20 attorneys), my firm has recently let a few mid to higher level associates go (but probably more for mixed reasons--mediocre work product and slow practice areas), but also still hired 2-3 new associates, who are still starting at close to 6 figures. No salary reductions whatsoever at my firm. I think we may be doing better than most in these troubled times...

  4. Come on @9:54. 20 attorneys and you won't give us a firm name?

  5. I can't say who we are, but I will say we are a mid-size firm specializing in Unicorn and Candy Law and we may or may not have hired O.J. to do paralegal work for us from the prison library.
