  1. Brandon Room is not with KKBRF. He left with Ferrari & Co. for Greenberg Traurig. He is a really smart, nice guy.

  2. Thanks for posting the Rising Stars list LE. My favorite is when people ask me how I got the honor. My guess is that SL goes to every firm's website and picks the young lawyers with the best resume. I mean, are there attorneys who would actually nominate another attorney for recognition?

  3. Young Grasshopper, typically, your firm is marketing to get you nominated. A couple of phone calls is typically all it takes. If your firm is large enough to have a marketing department, they will usually do the leg work.

I don't know, some of those little firms probably don't have a marketing department.

  5. It must not take much to be nominated because one attorney on the list has to be one of the looniest lawyers I have ever come across in decades of practice in Las Vegas. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that he nominated himself.

  6. Yeah....I hope people don't think this list is actually accurate. I know a few attorneys on here and they are definitely not "stars" in the legal community. These nominations are a joke. I know for a fact that some people got put on that list simply because they are friends of the editor. So lame but hey, another example of lawyers needing to stroke their ego. It is what it is....

  7. Quite the list! I wonder if any of these rising stars would know or understand the value of a Nevada Lawbooks collection dating back to 1861. My great-grandfather William D. Hatton was a circuit court judge in Tonopah in the early 20th century and left me his law book collection - if any of these rising stars wants to check it out, let me know - gary@chops.com
