1. Why do you want to be a judge?
When I applied to law school it was my dream to work to protect children. I believe that this is best accomplished on the bench.
2. Why are you qualified to be a judge?
I have been practicing solely in the area of family law for fifteen years. I have represented thousands of litigants in family court and have tried hundreds of cases. Additionally, I serve as a conflict public defender for indigent parents in abuse and neglect cases. I am the owner of my own firm, FAMILY LAW GROUP, LLC. I have dedicated my career to assisting families in the areas of divorce, child custody, adoptions, grandparents rights cases, and guardianship cases.
3. Do you read Wild Wild Law? If so, what do you think of the site?
I have read Wild Wild Law and appreciate its humor and honesty. While the mainstream press addresses some issues related to attorneys and our judiciary in Calrk County, only Wild Wild West does it with a truly honest spin.
Awand just pled guilty to misprision of felony. Anybody know the terms?
ReplyDeleteAccording to the LVRJ:
ReplyDeleteFormer medical consultant Howard Awand pleaded guilty Monday to misprision of felony.
In doing so, Awand admitted he knew that attorney Noel Gage and surgeon Mark Kabins had committed mail or wire fraud and that he failed to report the criminal activity as soon as possible.
Kabins previously pleaded guilty to misprision of felony, and Gage pleaded guilty last month to obstruction of justice.
Senior U.S. District Judge Justin Quackenbush is scheduled to sentence Awand on June 25.
Nice wig, Denise.
ReplyDeleteWhat the hell? Jones and Maskall didn't even respond? Well, I guess we have our winner.
ReplyDeleteShe may have been the only candidate to respond, but her answers did not contain much substance. Will she be the same on the bench? She really doesn't have any expirence on the bench. On the flip side the robe would cover her tight fitting suits.
ReplyDeleteDon't know much about Maskall.
Jones has questionable personal actions. As a Judge he is slow to render decisions, but fair and ultimately gets to the right result in most cases. He moves his calendar along and doesn't accept crap excuses to continue cases.
I think Judge Jones has received disproportionately unfavorable media attention for things that were largely beyond his control (i.e. things done to him, and not by him). He is a fine Judge and should be retained.

ReplyDeleteDidn't he get arrested for allegedly manhandling his girlfriend? How was that something done to him?
